Hair follicle stem cells (HFSC) are the central regulators of the hair growth cycle. Growth hormones stimulate HFSCs to activate and maintain hair growth. Melanocyte stem cells are associated with hair pigmentation (decreased activity causes gray hair). The health of HFSCs and Melanocyte cells is primarily affected by genetics, age, nutrition, and stress.

Growth Hormone Follicular Therapy with PRP  delivers your own growth hormone to the follicles, activating hair growth. GHFT is a 60 to 90-minute in-office procedure with little to no downtime.

Growth Hormone Follicular Therapy is implemented alone, with supportive vitamin therapy, IV therapy, or in conjunction with an FUE hair transplant.

HAIR AGING PROCESS

Aging affects hair growth in both males and females.

Regeneration of hair follicles is regulated by hair follicle stem cells (HFSC) located in the bulge. The hair follicles' self-renewal ability also includes other follicular components, such as blood vessels, lymphatic capillaries, nerves, and other cells.

With aging, the hair follicle stem cells' activity declines, thus reducing the regeneration capability of hair follicles. Age-related changes include hair graying, slower regeneration, and hair becoming shorter and thinner, leading to eventual hair loss.

HAIR GROWTH CYCLE

Hair follicles undergo cyclic rounds of regeneration (Anagen), degeneration (Catagen), and rest (Telogen).

  • Anagen phase – The active growing stage lasts 3-5 years. Approximately 88% of your hair is in the active growing phase.
  • Catagen phase – Transition stage: During this stage, hair follicles shrink, and hair detaches. This phase lasts 1-2 weeks.
  • Telogen phase – Resting stage; Old hair falls out, and new hair forms. This phase lasts around 3 months.

MAJOR FACTORS IN HAIR LOSS

  • Family history is the most common factor in hair loss.
  • Age-related changes to hair follicles slow hair growth, the growth cycle shortens, the rest cycle gets longer, and the hair follicle eventually stops producing hair.
  • Nutrient deficiencies like iron, zinc, or biotin may cause noticeable hair loss.
  • Some medical treatments will result in temporary or permanent hair loss.
  • Scalp conditions such as ringworm or scalp psoriasis can lead to hair loss.
  • Extreme stress may lead to hair thinning.
