Butt Augmentation with Butt Implants in Chicago, IL

Add Volume to Your Backend with Butt Implants

Butt Implants1

For patients who do not have a significant amount of excess fat, or who want a more significant and dramatic augmentation, butt implants may be the best solution.

Butt implants are made of silicone, which has a soft and natural texture. The implants are solid and cannot leak, therefore, they are essentially permanent. They are placed using a 2 to 3-inch incision in the vertical crease between the buttocks, which hides the incision nicely. The implants are then placed beneath the butt muscle in a procedure that takes approximately 2 hours.

Postoperatively, soft silicone drains will be in place and a tight fitting compression garment is worn for approximately one month. Butt implants can also be combined with liposuction to the lower back area above the butt, a well as the thigh or saddle bag area beneath the buttocks, to enhance the overall results and shape.

Butt implants have the potential to add more volume than fat transfer. Implant size can be chosen based on patient measurements, and larger implants can be used for more significant augmentations. Typically, a fuller, rounder look can be attained with implants as opposed to fat injections. Recovery, however, is more significant, with additional post-operative discomfort and an initial two weeks of recovery time with minimal sitting on the buttock area. Typical daily activities are resumed after the two-week period, and more strenuous activities can be resumed in 6 to 8 weeks.

How Long Does Butt Augmentation Surgery Take?

Butt augmentation surgery is an invasive cosmetic procedure that takes approximately two hours to complete from start to finish. After you have been administered anesthesia, Dr. Wiener will make a two to three-inch incision in the vertical crease in the butt in order to properly place the silicone implants beneath the buttocks muscle. After the implant has been properly placed, the patient will be stitched up and sent to recovery.

How Long Does it Take for Final Results to Appear?

Directly after your butt augmentation implant surgery, Dr. Wiener suggests that patients be required to wear a support garment for around two to three weeks after the procedure. Designed to help both the skin around the implant and buttocks muscles heal from the surgery, the garment will help give patients the best results possible.

Due to the amount of swelling and the time that it takes for your butt implants to settle under the muscle, patients won’t see final results until around three months after the actual surgical procedure.

What are Butt Implants Made Of?

Similar to breast implants, butt implants are made of silicone that is designed to give patients a more natural look and feel. Additionally, the body safely absorbs silicone if the implants were to rupture somehow due to an accident or injury.

What is the Recovery Period After the Butt Implant Procedure?

Directly after butt augmentation surgery in our Chicago office, patients will be required to wear a compression device that will keep the butt implants in place and will help the surgical incisions from breaking open. For the first two weeks following butt implant surgery, patients will experience post-operative discomfort and should avoid sitting too much on their butt or participating in any sort of strenuous exercise or activities.

After the two-week period has expired and once cleared by Dr. Wiener, patients can expect to return to their normal activities excluding strenuous activities that can be resumed around six to eight weeks post-surgery.
