Every decade of your life requires a different set of treatments to attain or maintain a youthful appearance. The visible aging process starts in your 30s.
The Art of Plastic Surgery Med Spa team of elite injectors and medical aestheticians are highly trained to address aging as a complex and dynamic process. Under the expert guidance of Dr Wiener, we provide a full approach to facial aging, addressing photo damage, wrinkle development, soft tissue redistribution, and bone remodeling.
The normal course of aging is a complex 3- dimensional process that alters all layers of facial anatomy. Weakening and thinning of skin, fat pad atrophy and repositioning, loss of muscle tone and muscle thickness, and bone loss - we lose the harmonious balanced features of youth, affecting our physical attractiveness and impacting our self-esteem.
During a complimentary consultation, The Art of Plastic Surgery team provides in-depth analysis of your aging stage, evaluating each of the main layers of the facial anatomy.

Aging Skin
A multitude of factors impact skin aging, both internal (genetic) and external (environmental). Slowly developing fine wrinkles, and some expression lines are attributed to internal aging. External aging presents the development of more harsh wrinkles, rough texture and skin dryness.
The skin’s strength is in its collagen layer, elasticity is in levels of elastin, and skin hydration is dependent on the levels of glycosaminoglycans.
At around age 40 we start seeing a major decline in skin thickness, elasticity, and hydration.
Aging Muscle
The aging process in muscle is typically visible in a development of dynamic wrinkles, affecting both the volume and contour. Most visibly this process presents itself in perioral (around the mouth) and periorbital (around the eye) regions.
Aging Fat Pads
Fat pad loss and repositioning is visible in the periorbital, midface, and lower jaw area. Hollowing of the cheeks, flattening of the facial angles, and hollowing of the temple are all signs of fat loss, while fat pad repositioning is mainly seen in the superficial layers of jowl, and lateral nasolabial folds.
Aging Bone
Bone provides structure and support to facial soft tissue. Like all aging tissue our bone recedes and remodels with aging, resulting in repositioning and loss of overlaying tissue. Loss of jaw angle, especially in women, also leads to changes in chin projection.
In 30s we start seeing forehead flattening (loss of support causing a nasal tip droop, and loss of brow support), flattening and hollowing of the cheeks (orbital rims are becoming bony, and tear trough deepens), deepening nasolabial groove, and lengthening of upper lip area.
