There are noninvasive techniques for reducing facial lines and wrinkles. They produce quick results with minimal downtime.
Dr. Wiener and his staff are proud to announce the arrival of ProFractional,
a laser procedure to achieve younger looking skin with virtually no
downtime. "The technology is impressive," said Dr. Wiener. "With this
recent innovation in laser treatment, our patients can now experience
dramatic improvements with immediate results."
ProFractional uses a laser microbeam to treat pinpoint areas of your skin,
reaching depths appropriate for correcting wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars,
age spots and sun damaged skin. These treated areas stimulate the production
of new collagen and increase the skin's vitality, while enhancing tone and
texture. And because the laser targets only the affected areas of the skin,
the procedure is comfortable and healing time is short.
Smooth, even toned, healthy looking skin. "The results that we are seeing
with ProFractional are comparable to a deep resurfacing," said Dr. Wiener."The most significant difference is the rapid recovery time due to a more
accurate, non-invasive approach to laser surgery."

(now FDA approved) is a toxin that is injected in small amounts into muscles in the upper portion of the face to smooth the lines and wrinkles caused by contraction of these muscles during frowning or squinting. Horizontal forehead lines, vertical lines between the eyebrows, and crows' feet around the eyes can all be significantly reduced by injecting small amounts of this substance into the underlying muscles. Treatments take ten to twenty minutes and results can be expected in three to five days. The effect usually lasts three to five months, at which time further injections may be needed to maintain results.
and acellular human dermis ("") are injectable substances used to soften frown lines, smooth wrinkles and augment lips. They act by "plumping" the tissues. Collagen lasts around two to three months and requires a pretreatment test. "Cymetra" can last three to six months and does not require a pretreatment test.
can be removed in small amounts from the abdomen or thighs with a syringe and injected into the lips, wrinkles and frown lines. Slightly more post-treatment bruising and swelling may occur because overfilling the treated area is done (some of the injected fat is absorbed by the body). The effects of injected fat also fade with time (4 to 8 months) but a percentage (50%) become permanent and multiple treatments can lead to lasting results.

These techniques improve fine wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, and general sun damage. They act by stripping away the superficial layers of the skin. New skin cells migrate to the treated areas and produce new, smooth, natural collagen.
Chemical peels such as trichloroacetic acid (TCA) can be applied to the entire face and neck (avoiding the eyelids). Dermabrasion uses a spinning wheel with a rough (diamond encrusted) surface to abrade the skin; this is especially good for the pitting of acne scars and vertical lines around the lips. Lasers can also be used to resurface facial and neck skin. It is effective in treating wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and uneven pigmentation. The laser also causes a mild tightening effect on the facial skin.
These treatments result in redness and peeling of the skin for 5 to 10 days. There will also be some swelling. Most patients can return to work within 2 weeks. The pink color of the new skin may last for several months.
Dr. Wiener now also offers a new Laser Micro-Peel procedure that reduces post-procedure down-time by nearly 50%. Please contact the office or e-mail the doctor for further information.
