The Doctor received his under graduate degree from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where he graduated as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He went on to receive his medical degree in his home state at the University of Kansas. He completed a 5-year residency in general surgery at Rush Medical Center in Chicago, as well as Board Certification in General Surgery. He served a 3-year residency in plastic surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospitals.
