Fight the Signs of Aging
Juvéderm® Injectable Gel is an easy, comfortable treatment that lifts and adds volume to the wrinkles and folds of your skin. Juvéderm® is ideal for nasolabial folds, as well as the area around your lips and eyes, and can last up to 1 year.
The signs of aging can be difficult to accept. The good news is you don’t have to!
At The Art of Plastic Surgery, you will discover that many of the concerns that develop with age can be successfully corrected without the need for surgical lifting and tightening. Among other soft tissue fillers, we use Juvéderm® to restore youthful contours to the face.
What is Juvéderm®?
This hyaluronic acid filler, a natural complex sugar that bolsters skin elasticity, is formulated to smooth lines and wrinkles and restore volume to areas such as the cheeks. It is manufactured with Hylacross technology, a unique method of processing. It is this technology that makes Juvéderm® stand out among the growing variety of injectible anti-aging solutions, and which secures the longevity of results. Juvéderm® is considered one of the longest-lasting fillers today, smoothing the skin for up to 1 year.
How does Juvéderm® work?
Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvéderm® work by restoring adequate stores of this substance to areas of depletion. Where HA is lost, so is volume. Where volume is lost, so is the youthful plumpness that contours the face. Without sufficient volume in the fatty tissues beneath the skin, the overlying structure becomes lax. This translates into fine lines, wrinkles, and creases around the nose, mouth, and chin. When injected into deeper dermal tissues, the hyaluronic acid in Juvéderm® attracts water molecules, which bind to the HA product to restore volume.
Dr. Wiener recommends Arnica, a natural anti-inflammatory, as well as ibuprofen post-treatment as patients may experience 1 to 2 days of mild swelling and possibly, some bruising.
What areas can be treated by Juvéderm®?
Juvéderm® has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of nasolabial folds, the creases that develop between the nose and the mouth. Over years of use, the extent of treatment areas has increased to include marionette lines, which run from the corners of the mouth to the chin. Many injectors use this product to enhance the shape of the lips and reduce “smoker’s lines” around the mouth. Cheek augmentation has also been performed with Juvéderm®, although its sister product Voluma XC tends to be a more common choice for mid-face enhancement. Finally, this filler may be the product of choice for adding definition to the jaw line or to the nose. Visit The Art of Plastic Surgery’s photo gallery to view our patients results.
How much does a Juvéderm® treatment cost?
The overall cost of Juvéderm® treatment depends on the amount of product used. The average number of syringes most patients need to achieve their desired outcome is just 1 or 2. During your consultation visit, your treating injector will assess your skin and listen to your expected results. Working together, you can determine not only the right product for your needs, but whether or not a complementary product should be used in conjunction with Juvéderm®. For instance, if you want to correct lines around your nose and mouth and also lines on your forehead, optimal results may include a filler as well as Botox®.
Discover if Juvéderm® is Right for You
Juvéderm® has become the go-to filler for many injectors and their patients. The primary reason for the popularity of this product is the technology behind it. Hylacross cross-linking maximizes the concentration of hyaluronic acid in the Juvéderm® product. This translates into longer-lasting results. The smooth gel solution integrates with dermal tissues easily, and because it contains lidocaine the comfort of treatment is significantly improved.
